Should we display class members’ names and email addresses online?

 

We can now display pdf files in a hassle-free and attractive way. Many thanks to Thom Fishow, who leads our Welcome Ministry, for showing me how! 

So what is the big deal about displaying pdf files?

If we post Sunday School class roles on the website, you would then have the ability (after entering a password) to see the names and email addresses for all of the folks in your class. In today’s world, protecting your contact information is critically important. It is even more so, for single adults. Rather than make this decision for you, would you please take a moment to complete the following survey? The voting results will be forwarded to your respective teacher(s) who will then be able to discuss the idea with their classes and decide, as a group, whether to post your class’s roles online.

If you and your class members decide to post your class’s role online, the information will be protected as follows:

  1. Password-protected
  2. Your information would only be displayed in your particular class’s “Members Only” section. Thus it would not be listed in any other class’s pages unless you are a member of that class
  3. Only your first name,  last name, and email address would be displayed. Phone numbers and addresses will NOT be displayed
  4. Further, pdf files will be used to prevent someone from copying and pasting your address into a spam program
